  • Week of the 2nd
    • On Saturday the 30th I went to help Andy scout for his deer hunt. It was an archery buck tag in unit 52. We only ended up seeing a few does.
    • Tiff was in Texas visiting her grandma in Texas the weekend of the 7th. Mitch and I took the trailer out camping to Jacks Creek, one of the tributaries for the Pecos, for the weekend. We got there late Friday evening and left on Sunday. I ended up catching thhree cutthroat in Jacks Creek and missed a bunch of bites. We also caught a few browns and a rainbow in the Pecos on the way home.
  • Week of the 9th
    • Tiff went to Florida with Jennie and Holly. Her mom came out to stay with me and mitch and help out with watching mitch so I could work. Thanks Mrs. Sheila!
    • On Saturday the 14th, Steve and I went Turkey hunting in the Jemez. Since it was September it is archery season only. We ended up finding some turkeys right off the bat along a creek bottom and were working our way to get to a hidden spot where we could get a shot. We were in the process of jumping a barbed wire fence when they came around the berm that we were using as cover and they busted us. We watched them for another hour or so to try and get another shot but we never got another opportunity. We also brought the fly rods but ended up only catching one ~3" cutthroat. We had hiked back quite a ways fishing so after leaving decided to swing by Jemez Brewhouse for some food and beer. We had the green chili cheese bread and a red chili jemez pizza. On our way out we hit another couple of fishing spots. We got quite a few bites but had trouble getting hooksets.
  • Week of the 16th
    • We have been trying to sell the Prius that we had bought after Tiff got into an accident with the FJ. We had it at the lemon lot for a while and had one person interested but she backed out after learning it had an accident on the carfax. We drove down to Albuquerque to try and sell it at Carmax or Autonation but also due to the accident they wouldonly give us wholesale value or half of the book value. We also ended up doing a few other chores while we were there.
  • Week of the 23rd
    • The weekend of the 27th we met Dad and Paulette near Horca Colorado to go camping. The aspen leaves were peaking which we werent expecting but ended up being the perfect time to be there. I also tried fishing quite a few times and only ended up getting one bite. We also visited the town of Platoro which we learned is on old mining community that is only occupied during the summer due to snowfalls that reach the roof of houses during the winter. It was a great trip and an awesome place to see the leaves change. We also ended up seeing a heard of bighorn sheep! On the way back from Horca we saw the Cumbres and Toltec train and stopped to eat a sandwich while we waited at a crossing for the train to pass by.
